UFO: Archives of CNES are open





Scientists Cartesian or fervent defenders of extra-terrestrials, enthusiasts observe the sky, day and night to discover its mysteries lower. And for years, these "ufologists" waiting for this moment: the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES) opens the archives of his department in charge of collecting evidence convictions on "Aerospace phenomena Not Identified."

Heir to an institute created in 1977, the Groupement pour l'Etude et l'Information on the phenomena Aerospace Not Identified (GEIPAN) will gradually online thirty years of archives. On the menu: PV gendarmerie, photos and videos, but also the result of its investigations. With results that leave doubt: 9% of cases are fully explained, 33% are "probably", but 28% remain unexplained.

In total, nearly 100 000-page document will be put online. The first batch, which represents 25% of archives, is available online Thursday. The most ancient (some dating back to 1937) will be added gradually.
