écouverte an element extraterrestrial
The Tunisian and foreign geologists have recently discovered a layer of iridium, a thickness of two centimeters, on the site geological Mellègue Hammam, a city located in the Kef region, 200km north-west of Tunis. A discovery that confirms their view, the theory that the Earth would have been impacted by an asteroid there are more than 80 million years.
This layer is of origin "Alien" because iridium found is a chemical element non-existent on Earth. According to several geologists and other scientists quoted by the Tunisian news agency TAP, it would be a "stratotype unique in the world and identified by scientists as a layer of reference".
Many bones and fossils of animals, especially ammonites, were found on this site that the regional authorities are working to maintain and make available. The mollusk is an ammonite fossil céphalopode very abundant in the land side.
